If you want to spend the day at the beach with your dog, head 10 miles south of South Pasadena to Fort DeSoto Dog Beach. Here, your dog can splash around in the warm water and run off-leash on the sand. If your dog would rather go for a run on the grass, there’s a dog park right next to the dog beach with separate large and small dog areas. After you’re finished playing, you can wash the sand off your pup at the dog park’s rinsing station.

This off-leash dog park features plenty of room for your pooch to run around and drinking fountains for your pup to cool off with. There’s also plenty of seating for dog moms and dads. While this is an off-leash dog park, your dog will need a leash to explore the rest of Walter Fuller Park.
