Dog Walking in Seminole

Seminole, Florida is a city in Pinellas County that was named for the Native American tribe which used to inhabit the area. This quaint community is the hometown of a few famous folks, including two Major League Baseball players as well Miss America 1999.

If you decide to visit this beautiful city in sunny Florida and need somewhere to spend a night or two with your pup, check out the Seminole Airbnb Rentals. Different accommodations have different restrictions and fees, so be sure to look at the pet policy when booking your room.

There are a lot of dog-friendly restaurants and cafés in Seminole, making it a great place to chow down with your hound. Angry Pepper Tap House, Time Out Grille & Bar, Mamma's Famous Pizza, Cedars Restaurant, and Clubhouse Restaurant are just a few of Seminole's dog-friendly establishments.

No need to fret about your pup's health while in Seminole; there's an animal hospital here that will take good care of your pooch in case of emergency. While you're here, you should visit Lake Seminole Park, which is a huge park where you'll find dog-friendly trails and a dog park. If you are looking for a little bit of retro fun, you should check out the Treasure Island Fun Center in Seminole. Unfortunately, your pup will have to sit this one out.

Whether you're just passing through and need a place to stretch your legs, or you're looking for a great daycation destination, Seminole is a great place for dogs (and their owners, of course) to visit!

If you're in Seminole and you want to take your pup somewhere nice, check out the Boca Ciega Millennium Dog Park. This 1.5-acre, fenced park is a great place to let Fido off his leash for some mutts-needed exercise. The park is clean and well-maintained. Water is available year-round here, but you'll need to supply your own waste baggies. The park has separate areas for small and large dogs, as well as some agility equipment where your pooch can train, play, or just strut his stuff. The trees in this grassy park provide shade for those hot summer days, too. Don't fur-get to bring Fido's favorite toy!

In this neighborhood, which is situated in northern Seminole, you'll find another dog park called Walsingham Dog Park. The great thing about this park is that it includes three separate areas, two of which are for large pups, with another for small breeds. With a view over the Walsingham Lake and six-foot tall fences, this place is a paradise for your pooch! If you don’t like the fenced area, feel free to tackle the six miles of trail outside it. Your pup needs to be leashed on the trails, though. Water and waste bags are provided at the dog park, so no need to bring anything except for lots of energy.

One of the perks of living in Florida is the beautiful hot weather and the magnificent beaches. If you're looking for a beach to take your dog to, we recommend that you check out the Fort De Soto Dog Beach Park. The beach is located around 18 miles away from the center of Seminole, on the Fort De Soto Parks’ Islands. If you want some leash-free beach fun, head to the The Paw Playground area, where your dog is allowed off-leash! There are two fenced areas here where your pup can play: one for small and one for large dogs. Drinking water is available, but bring your own clean-up bags.

Another beach in the vicinity that you can check out is the Picnic Island Beach Dog Park. The beach is located around 20 miles away from Seminole, on Picnic Island, and you can get there from the Old Tampa Bay. Dogs are allowed to play and swim off-leash here. There is a partially fenced area on the beach for more safety. If you decide to play there, be aware of the rocky ground in the water, and look out for your pup's paws. The beach has shade and benches for the human visitors as well. Waste baggies are supplied, but you'll need to bring your own drinking water.

You and your hound will fall head over paws for Honeymoon Island, just 23 miles from Seminole. Here, you'll find a dog-friendly beach called Honeymoon Island State Park Dog Beach. This beautiful, sandy beach has crystal-clear water that's perfect for dipping a toe or paw in. Even though dogs have to be on-leash at all times, that doesn’t stop them from playing and swimming in the gentle waves. There is also a nature trail around the beach where you can walk your dog. Waste bags are available here in addition to trash stations, but make sure you bring enough water.
