The Laurel Bark Park in northern Gainesville, Georgia is just over 25 miles northwest of Jefferson. This off-leash park is part of the 124-acre Laurel Park which also includes an amphitheater, sports fields, playgrounds, picnic facilities, walking trails, and a water park. Your dog is allowed in these areas as long as they're on a leash. The off-leash park has big and small dog sections, and these spacious areas are complete with water fountains and bowls, waste disposal supplies, and seating. The hills in the dog park are pawfect for energetic dogs who like the extra challenge of racing up and down the inclines.

The southwestern Athens, Georgia area known as Woodland Hills is 20 miles southeast of Jefferson, and it's where you'll find Athens Memorial Dog Park. Athens Memorial Park is a 72-acre park that also has picnic facilities, walking trails, a swimming pool, and sports fields. The dog park is fenced in, but its natural setting makes you feel like you're exploring a wooded area without boundaries alongside your pooch. Athens Memorial Dog Park was opened in 2000, and all 1.5-acres of it are free for you to use. There are restrooms near the dog park, and you'll find waste disposal supplies and seating throughout the park as well.

North Athens

North Athens

Athens is home to another dog park, and this one is in northern Athens, which is just a 20-minute drive from Jefferson: the C. Spot Run Dog Park in Sandy Creek Nature Center. Created to be a gateway to outdoor exploration, Sandy Creek Nature Center is a 225-acre area with four miles of trails and plenty of opportunities to explore woodlands and wetlands. C. Spot Run is a free dog park within Sandy Creek, and there are water fountains, trees, and seating for pet parents. There are also three private parks in Sandy Creek, and for only $1 per hour per dog, your pooch is welcome in those, too.

If you drive about 20 miles west of Jefferson, you'll end up in northeastern Flowery Branch, Georgia. This is where the 22-acre Mulberry Creek Park is located, and you don't want to miss it! Mulberry Creek Park has a community center, gymnasiums, playgrounds, a walking track, and an off-leash dog park! The dog park includes big and small dog sections, and the big dog section has a very high fence to prevent jumping. You'll find a water fountain for dogs and canines, waste disposal supplies, seating, shade, and restrooms at this park, and it's free to use!
Southeast Dacula

Southeast Dacula

Harbins Park is a 1,960-acre park in southeast Dacula, Georgia, and it's only about 20 miles from Jefferson. Its amenities include a 4.3-mile paved trail where you can walk your dog on a leash, as well as a 4.5-mile hiking trail. Harbins Park also has its very own off-leash park! The Harbins Dog Park has big and small dog sections, a section for dogs of all sizes, and an agility area to accommodate dogs of all sizes and activity levels. There's a water source at the park, but be sure to bring your own bowl. Within the dog park, you'll also find covered seating and waste disposal supplies.
