Doggie waste bags are provided, as well as a station to wash off your sandy dog before leaving. You will need to pack water and something for shade. Keep in mind that tags are a requirement for dogs and the cost is to enjoy the beach is $5.

This pawesome neighborhood is located 19 miles from Hillside and is home to the Whalon Lake Dog Park. This off-leash dog park encompasses 8 fenced-in acres. There is also a smaller section of 2.5 acres for smaller dogs under 30 pounds. Something to keep in mind is that a permit is required to use this park, but the permit fee is worth it. You'll find all the amenities you'd expect from a good dog park here: benches, shelters, open grassy areas, paved trails, and picnic spots.
