Katherine Legge Memorial Lodge Dog Park is just the right place to come and play if you are looking for a way to socialize your fur baby. It is a peaceful park that is covered in soft grass. There is even a little stream that flows through it, making it a great way to cool off. You will find that there are plenty of benches to sit and watch your pup play. You can also walk them around the grassy area outside of the park if you want to stretch your legs for a bit.

You will find that there are two dog parks within the Green Valley Forest Preserve. They are both fenced-in areas where you can let your pup off his leash to play safely. There are lots of benches placed in the shade for your comfort. Greene Valley Dog Park is the larger of the two. You do need to register in order to visit. You can get a day pass if you are just visiting. The locals are always friendly and ready to greet a new face. The parks are well-maintained and stocked with bags for your convenience. Naperville is only ten miles from Hinsdale.

Whalon Lake Dog Park is an eight-acre dog park that has a two-acre section for smaller dogs to play in. It is just the right place for your dog to meet new friends. You can come and play fetch with your pet, especially if you don’t mind other dogs joining in on the fun. The best part is that this dog park is only about fifteen minutes from Hinsdale. You will enjoy visiting around the shelters and pavilions that are set up just to encourage socialization. Don’t forget that you can take advantage of all the amenities of the Forest Preserve as well.

We’ve got one word for you: TACOS! Everyone loves tacos, and Big Star has some of the best in Chicago. You and your pup can walk right up and order your favorites. Grab a table nearby so that you get seconds. You should definitely try a margarita while you are here -- they boast having some of the best in the area. Bring your leash and come and explore the city while you are here. Chicago is only about twenty minutes from Hinsdale, and it features many dog-friendly things to do all around town. If you enjoy people-watching, then this is just the right place for you to spend the day observing the passersby.

You definitely want to drive the twenty minutes over to Cody's Public House. They have a huge backyard area that you are allowed to bring your dog to! You can also enjoy a game a darts, or take a swim in the pool while you are here. Be sure to check in on Open Mic Night, which happens every weekend, so that you can enjoy a hilariously good time. With live music, great food, and friendly service, Cody’s Public House will quickly become your new favorite spot. You can even enjoy a drink or two -- even the bartenders are fur-friendly!
