East Lake Villa

East Lake Villa is home to the town's only dog park, the Duck Farm Dog Park, and you won't want to miss it! This dog park offers 48 acres of prime space for dogs to exercise and have fun. Not only are there open fields at this park, but there are also grassy trails, wetlands, toilets, and drinking fountains! Visitors love how friendly the other dogs and their humans are, and you and your pet are sure to love it at Duck Farm Dog Park, too! You'll need to get either an annual or a daily permit to use this park, but that same permit gets you access to the other three designated dog parks in the Lake County Forest Preserves.

S Waukegan

Just east of South Waukegan Road in Lake Forest, Illinois is the Prairie Wolf Dog Park, and this excellent park is only a half-hour drive from Lake Villa! Prairie Wolf Dog Park is a 44-acre dog park that is entirely fenced-in for your pet's safety. If your dog is a swimmer, there is a pond right outside of the park's perimeters that is perfect for cooling off on a hot day. The park also has toilets, a drinking fountain, and enclosures for training. Prairie Wolf Dog Park is another of the four dog parks in the Lake County Preserves that a permit gets you access to.

Fort Sheridan

A 39-minute drive from Lake Villa gets you to Highland Park, Illinois and into the Fort Sheridan area of the town. Here, you'll find Moraine Dog Beach and Park, which is a paradise for both dogs and also their owners! This is the only dog beach in Highland Park, and it's a pawfect place for your dog to swim in Lake Michigan and cool off on a hot day. The views at the park are spectacular, and those who visit note that the dogs and humans who frequent it are very friendly. For your convenience, there is even a rinse station to clean the sand off of your pup before you head home.

Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake, Illinois is only a 40-minute drive from Lake Villa, and just north of the town's namesake lake is Hound Town Dog Park. This three-acre park is fenced in and requires a key to enter, as well as a permit for the use of the park. It is worth purchasing the permit, as your dog will love getting their exercise and socializing with other friendly dogs here. The park also has drinking water for dogs, and it is open year-round from dawn to dusk so you can go at the time most convenient for you and your pooch.

N Fairfield

The area of North Fairfield is actually found in east Wauconda, Illinois, and it is only a 24-minute drive from central Lake Villa. This 68-acre park is full of endless opportunities for fun, socializing, and exercise for both you and for Rover. There are also picnic tables, washrooms, a gazebo, and a pump for drinking water for thirsty doggos. A permit for the Lake County Forest Preserves will also get you access to this dog park, and the small yearly or daily fee is more than worth all of the fun your dog will have here!
