Welcome to Wauconda, a charming village that surrounds the Bangs Lake on all sides. The perfect place for a family to settle down with their fur kids, Wauconda has plenty of trails and water activities that you can enjoy together. In the event of an emergency, you'll find an animal hospital conveniently located in the center of the city. Pet owners will love the spacious homes and gorgeous views throughout this city.

Despite being a slightly secluded lakeside locale, Wauconda is home to the Lakewood Dog Park, which has tons of fun activities for your precious pups to enjoy. The 68-acre forest preserve features four separate fenced areas where your canines can stretch their legs and wag their tails with dogs their own size. Dogs can also enjoy swimming, training enclosures, and grassy areas, while pet parents can relax in the shaded areas throughout the park. You’ll need a daily or annual pass to access the park.

If you’re looking for a fun night on the town with your four-legged companion, try the Side Lot Brewery. Throughout the summer, dogs can socialize on the patio while you enjoy craft beers and a great ambiance. Plus, they have homemade dog treats made from the grain in the brewery every Wednesday!
