The dog park also has a pond your pup can swim in on hot days, and drinking water is available. To use this fun dog park, you’ll have to get an annual or daily permit for your pup. You can order this in advance online, or you can pick one up from the self-pay station right outside the dog park.

If you’re looking for another good off-leash area for your pup, check out Independence Grove Dog Exercise Area. Located seven miles from North Chicago, this 30-acre fenced area has open fields where your pup can frolic to their heart’s content. There’s also a river your pup can swim in, trails they can walk on off-leash, and drinking water. To use the dog park, you’ll have to get an annual or daily permit. Once you get that, you’ll be free to use the dog park for as long as you’d like! If you want to get a bite to eat after playing at the dog park, check out Jimmy’s Charhouse.
