Acorn Glen is a small residential neighborhood found on the southern side of Oak Lawn. This part of town is nestled underneath of 97th street and is home to two dog-friendly restaurants. Your dog can join you for a bite at Corner Bakery Café or Andy’s Frozen Custard. Both of these eateries have ample outdoor seating for you to enjoy your food with your trusty dog beside you. You can head down to the Oak Meadows park if you are looking for a small but clean open area park where families and leashed dogs are welcome from sunrise to sunset throughout the year.

Lawn Manor Park

Lawn Manor Park

You will want to pack your pop-up water bowls and a good leash for your stay in Lawn Manor Park. This neighborhood on the south side of Oak Lawn is home to both green spaces and eateries where leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the fresh air with you. You can get your exercise at the Lawn Manor Park in the center of the neighborhood. Leashed dogs are a common sight here walking or running alongside their owners. When you have barked up an appetite, you can head to Clancy’s, a dog-friendly Irish pub style restaurant where you can enjoy comfort food and beverages with your dog in their outdoor seating areas.

In Evergreen Park to the east of Oak Lawn, you will find the charming neighborhood of Northwest Evergreen Park. You will need your best walking leash and plenty of waste bags for your stay in this gorgeous place. You can start in Duffy Park if you would like an outside view of the beautiful St. Mary’s Cemetery while your dog has fun in the sun. You can head over to Cowboy Park if your pup still has energy to burn before you take a trip to Thithi’s Restaurant for a locally-owned bite where your dog is welcome to stay with you on their patio.

In Chicago Ridge, just a few minutes southwest of Oak Lawn, you will find the neighborhood of Freedom Park. This neighborhood is a wonderful place to get your exercise with your dog and a quick bite to eat where you both will be welcome! You can begin your adventures at the tail-waggin’ Freedom Park in the center of the neighborhood. Dogs are welcome with leashes and waste bags! You can also visit the Chicago Ridge Prairie Nature Preserve as long as you stick to the trails. After all that walking, you will want to head over to Jack Desmond’s Irish Pub for pub fare and drinks with your dog in their scenic outdoor seating area. 

Southfield

Southfield

In Bridgeview, IL, just ten minutes north of Oak Lawn, is the neighborhood of Southfield. You will enjoy parks and restaurants here with your four-legged companion all weekend long. Many locals frequent the Commissioners Park in the center of the neighborhood. Leashed pets are welcome here, but make sure you bring the waste bags and clean up after yourself! Trust your dog’s nose; you will be lead to Nick’s Barbeque after you have had all of the tail wags and barks you can muster. Here, you both can enjoy delicious barbecue fare in the outdoor seating area and enjoy impeccable, welcoming service!
