South Watseka
Located at the corner of Mulberry and 4th St, Donovan Park is a perfect place to take Fido for a walk and let the kids play. You can stroll around the paved pathway and give your pup some exercise, and then relax on a bench while the kids get rid of excess energy on the playground. The basketball court is great for the teenagers, and the trees provide plenty of shade. There are restrooms available at the park, but you will need to bring your own doggie waste bags and bottles of water. Its convenient location in town makes it pupular with pooch parents.

City Center
When visiting the City Center of town, there are three parks available for your pooch to run around and play. Forest Park on West Fleming St features ball fields where Fido can run and a walking path around the perimeter of the park. The shade trees will help keep you cool and the kids can play on the basketball court while you and Fido relax on a bench and watch. Kay Park is across the road off W Walnut Street and offers a playground where younger kids can have a good time. There is open space where your pup can romp and roam and a picnic area where you can enjoy a snack with friends and their furry family members. Head north to Peters Park for more outdoor adventure.

Milford
About 10 minutes south of town, the Timbered Meadows Association Campground is located in Milford. When you want to get away, but not too far away, this campground is perfect for spending quality time outdoors with your pup and the family. You can go fishing in the lake, and there are campsites for tents and RV’s. You can walk through the area with Fido on a leash, and the kids will enjoy swimming near the beach. The basketball court is located near the picnic pavilion and is lit at night so you can walk your pup before bed. Clean restrooms and bathhouse make this campground fun for the entire family.

Onarga
About fifteen miles west of Watseka, the Lake Arrowhead Campground is situated in the town of Onarga. The quiet destination features a great place for fishing, and you and Fido can sit on the banks of the water and relax in the sun. The campground offers clean restrooms and showers, and a laundry facility. You can stroll with your pooch through the nature trails and admire the plants and animals, and the friendly staff is always available to answer questions. The kids can play in the swimming pool or on the playground, and your pup will love watching you play horseshoes. Just be sure to bring some doggie waste bags and clean up after your pup.
Chebanse
The Kankakee South KOA is an amazing campground about 30 miles north of Watseka in Chebanse. There is a swimming pool where the kids can cool off, and the hiking trails are perfect to give your pup some exercise. There are large campsites for both RV’s and tents, and families are often out walking with their pups and letting the kids play at the playground. The friendly staff is available to answer questions and there are even hay wagon rides on the weekends. If you like to spend time outdoors with Fido and the family, you will love the shady oak trees and relaxing atmosphere of this campground.
