Sheffield
Sheffield is quite an old neighborhood, and is home to the Belchertown Center Historic District. A walk through the streets here is always fascinating, with so much historical architecture to be seen. The Historic District is also where Belchertown Common is located, which boasts a small stretch of greenery, along with a bandstand, memorial, cannon and flagpole. If your pooch needs a larger green area to frolic about in, head to the Cold Spring Conservation Area, where you will find four acres of natural beauty to explore. There is also a playground here, as well as natural pools and a short hiking trail that stretches out for 0.3 miles.

Bay Rd – Stebbins St
There are some pawsome walks to be found in the Bay Road – Stebbins Street neighborhood, beginning at the Topping Farm Conservation Area. This parcel of land consists of 220 acres of forest, open fields, wetlands and more, with so many scenic viewpoints. There are hiking trails within the grounds that you and Fido can follow, just be sure to watch out for poison ivy in the summer months. Another pawtastic walk in this neighborhood is along the Norwottuck Rail Trail, which extends out for around ten miles. This path is fully paved and features level ground most of the way, making it pawfect for a leisurely stroll with your pup.

Granby Mass
Directly adjacent to Belchertown is the Granby neighborhood of Granby Mass, and this is an area that your pooch will definitely love. This is where the Granby Sand Plain State Park is located, which boasts just under 100 acres of natural beauty. There is a main paved path that runs through the park, as well as several shorter side trails that branch off from this, most of which connect up with each other, making it easy to explore the whole park. Dogs are welcome to explore this park with their owners, but do need to be kept on a lead at all times.

Pelham
The small town of Pelham is next to Belchertown, and with all of the pawsome walks to be found here, you and your pooch will likely spend quite a bit of time in this town. Begin your day at the Harkness Conservation Area, which is home to 136 acres of preserved land, with such a variety of plant and animal life living here. Not too far away is Buffam Falls, with a few different trails available to lead you to the waterfall. There are three main cascades in this waterfall, as well as picturesque scenery all around, making this a popular spot with the canines of Pelham.

Hampshire
Less than a mile away from Belchertown is the Hampshire neighborhood of Amherst, and there is a state park here that will no doubt end up taking up quite a bit of your time. The Mount Holyoke Range State Park sprawls out for 3000 acres, not only featuring woodlands, wetlands and streams, but also a mountain ridge line that runs for seven miles. There are over 30 miles of blazed trails for you and Fido to explore here, with each one showcasing some of the different habitats within the park. Don't forget to bring a lead, doggie bags and drinking water for Fido with you.
