Bemis
Located in the city’s Bemis neighborhood, Watertown Dog Park is a must-visit for any dog owner. This pupular doggy destination is fully fenced for safe off-leash play and features separate sections for smaller and larger dogs. Dogs must be at least six months old and display current license and rabies vaccinations to gain entry here. Each pet parent, who must be at least 16 years old, may have up to two dogs in the park at a time. Be sure to clean up any messes your pet leaves behind to keep the park clean for other visitors. Cleanup bags are provided, and water and benches are available.

East Watertown
On the east side of town, you will find Celebrity Pizza & Dairy Bar. This local favorite is the perfect place to go when you’re feeling hungry and want to bring your dog along. There are seven outdoor tables where pets can relax with their parents while they enjoy everything from lobster rolls and fried clam bellies, to pizza, ice cream and hoagies. This no-frills restaurant isn’t fancy, but it serves up some of the most delicious treats in the area. Sofra Bakery & Café is also close by and serves up your favorite Mediterranean fare including falafel, hummus and more.

West Cambridge
Head east approximately three miles, and you will find yourself in Cambridge, Massachusetts’ West Cambridge neighborhood. This area is home to the popular Fresh Pond Reservation Dog Park. A 2.5-mile trail surrounds the park’s main pond and is the perfect place to take your dog for a leisurely walk. Most of the trail is shaded, making for a cool, comfortable walk even during the summer months. The park also features two ponds where dogs are allowed to go for a swim. Danehy Dog Park is also located in this area and features separate areas for large breeds and small breeds.

Cambridgeport
Located just six miles east of Watertown, Cambridge’s Cambridgeport neighborhood is home to two popular doggy destinations. First, visit Pacific Street Dog Park. This clean, well-cared-for park spans one acre and is fenced for off-leash play. There’s plenty of shade and seats for pet parents, and a doggy water foundation to keep your pup hydrated. Hoyt Field is a pawsome place to go if you want to do some on-leash walking. With plenty of activities for both your two-legged and four-legged family members, this park is sure to become a favorite.

Prospect Hill
Somerville’s Prospect Hill neighborhood is located just six miles away from Watertown, and is home to Nunziato Field Dog Park. This simple park is fully fenced to allow for safe off-leash play. There are also benches where pet parents can relax and watch the action unfold. Make note, though, that there is no running water. When you’re ready for a drink or a bite to eat, check out Sally O’Brien’s. This casual Irish pub serves up all your favorite bar food and beverages, and dogs are welcome to join their owners at the restaurant’s outdoor tables. From traditional Irish fare to American favorites, they have it all.
