The suburban town of Middle River is located just 10 miles east of Baltimore. The area is great for pups and their parents with parks, hiking trails, and pooch-friendly businesses. There are also four convenient veterinarian clinics in the area offering emergency services and routine appointments.

A fun place to take Fido on the weekends is the Gunpowder Falls State Park. With over 18,000 acres of space all throughout Maryland, the park features a variety of trails depending on how energetic you and the pup are feeling. The Hammerman location which is part of Middle River provides picnic tables and BBQ grills where you can cook out after exploring nature on the expansive paths. You can also go fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on the Middle River, or relax with Fido on a shaded bench and watch the kids on the playground.

A trip to Hawthorne Park offers walks along the shoreline and views of the boats in the water. There are also paved walking paths, a pier, and playground making this the perfect destination for a warm afternoon.

Taking your pup out for dinner with the family is also a great way to spend quality time together. Sunset Cove offers dog-friendly picnic tables where you and your pooch can enjoy views of the marina while snacking on sandwiches and your favorite cocktail. Another option is the River Watch Restaurant where you can pull-up in your boat and relax at one of the outdoor tables with your pup to grab a bite to eat. Meeting up with friends and their canine companions is also a popular past-time at The Crazy Tuna.  You can order a variety of drinks and menu items, and the friendly staff will give your pup love and attention.

Middle River is a quiet and peaceful location where you and your pooch can enjoy time away from the city.
