It is also just a few minutes from the city of Middle River and about twenty minutes from the White Marsh Mall, a popular shopping attraction for locals. You will see many dog owners walking their dogs through the neighborhood throughout the day in this part of town. Leashes are required, and there is a good amount of green space for your dog to stretch her paws on throughout Essex. You will find the scenery in Essex quite relaxing after a long day at work while you spend quality time with your pup.

West Essex

West Essex is close to the waters of the Back River. This makes the neighborhood a great place to splash and sniff away an afternoon. If you need a break from the busier parts of town, spending an afternoon in West Essex is a pawfect way to recharge for the days ahead of you. You will find many dog owners sharing the space with you during warmer months, so just be sure to keep a good leash with you at all times and make sure you have plenty of waste bags. You will also find plenty of open green areas to run around and chase a tennis ball in as you make your way around town.

East Essex

East Essex is on the waters of the Middle River. Dog owners who live in East Essex have the beautiful view of the water right from their backyards in many places. Many streets also feature their own open green spaces where home owners take their pups for walks throughout the day. These green spaces are a local favorite, and you will see dogs of all sizes playing here throughout the week. Make sure you have a comfortable leash with you. If your dog is easily excited around other dogs, you may consider a harness to minimize pulling and lunging behaviors.

South Essex

South Essex is just minutes from the water and rests on the edge of Rocky Point Park. Leashed dogs are allowed to explore the park with their owners; just be mindful of all posted signs as you go on your adventures. Many of the paths in the park are dirt, but you should still bring waste bags with you and help keep the main trails as clean as possible for the next visitors. You will enjoy spending a weekend morning or afternoon here with your dog if you are both nature lovers who prefer to be close to the water.
