Riviera Beach
It’s no secret that dogs love going to the park. Make your pup’s tail wag with a trip to Sunset Park. With plenty of open green lawn, this park is a great place for your pooch to get rid of her extra energy. Take a couple laps around the perimeter. If she needs a little paws, there are some mature shade trees to rest under. Be sure to check out the trails in the wooded area. Rock Creek Park is also nearby. Beside ball fields and sport courts, this park has some trails and a pawsome nature area. Sounds fetching!

Rock Creek
Rock Creek is home of Fort Smallwood Park, a 19th century sea coast defense unit. This historic spot features Battery Hartshorne, an old gun battery with barracks. Today, visitors can learn about this notable park while enjoying beautiful views of the Chesapeake Bay. Venture down the coastal trail so your leashed pup can gaze out at the water while getting in some doggy cardio. There are also short trails that lead through wooded wetlands. Stop by the 380-foot Bill Burton Fishing Pier to either cast a line or bird watch. Benches, sport courts, horseshoe pits, picnic tables and a playground are available.

Lake Shore
When in Pasadena, your pup can’t miss out on the Downs Memorial Park Dog Beach. Your pooch can ditch her leash and splash around to her heart’s content. If she’s a swimmer, throw a stick or two into the sea and watch her go. The dog beach is not completely fenced in, so if your pup is prone to wander, you’ll need to keep an eye on her. When she’s finished playing in the water, clip on her leash and explore the park’s five miles of trails. A system of nature trails and paved paths weave throughout the 236 acres. Be sure to stop at the overlooks for some pawsome views of the Chesapeake Bay.
