The Town Center of Arnold isn’t all bustling streets and shops. Here you can find a great place to escape from the crowds and into some peaceful greenery. It’s in this neighborhood that you can find the beloved Arnold Park. This park has something in it for everyone, including the family dog! Features include playgrounds and athletic fields. There are even large grassy areas with shade trees that your pupper will love to sniff and play on. There are restrooms and picnic tables here as well, so don’t forget to pack a lunch! Well-behaved dogs are welcome, just be sure that they stay leashed and are picked up after.

Residents and dogs of the Wexford neighborhood get to enjoy living somewhere where they never need to have a boring morning walk! This neighborhood is home to several urban parks, including the Twin Oaks Park, the Belvedere Park, and the Margo Vista Park. All of these parks welcome leashed dogs! The Belvedere Park and the Margo Vista Park are more centered around sports, with baseball diamonds and tennis courts. The Twin Oaks park features a nice paved walking path that winds through the mature trees. This quaint, family friendly park also has a playground. Don’t forget to bring the doggy waste bags and treats!

Tanglewood

Tanglewood

Head over to the Tanglewood neighborhood to find one of the hidden gems of Arnold. The peaceful and secluded Spriggs Farm Park is located along the Magothy River. You can access the river to launch a canoe, or just relax and enjoy the views next to your canine companion. There are trails that wander throughout the woods and the meadows in this park that your dog will love as well. The trails are rustic and not clearly marked, so be sure to not get lost! The park is gated, but the lock combination can be requested through the Anne Arundel Parks website. Leashed dogs are welcome here, just be sure your pup leaves only paw prints!

Cape St. Claire

Cape St. Claire

Just a hop across the border into the larger city of Annapolis, brings you to another puppy paradise! In the Cape St. Claire neighborhood, under 10 minutes away from Arnold, you can find the Broadneck Park. Here you can find a fenced in dog park, where your puppy can run and play to his or her hearts delight in off-leash freedom. The park features two fenced of sections, one for large breeds and another for the little guys. There is drinking water available in season, and restrooms nearby. The park even has dog toys to share, so all you need to bring is your happy pup! Surrounding the dog park is a scenic walking trail and playground. Dogs need to be picked up after, and be leashed when they’re not inside the fenced areas.

Skidmore

Skidmore

If you keep going east in Annapolis to the neighborhood of Skidmore, you can find the famed Sandy Point State Park. This state park is 786 acres along the northern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, and just a 15 minute drive from Arnold. The park features beaches and picnic areas overlooking the majestic bay, with views of the Sandy Point Shoal Light and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Some of the activities available in this park are boating, picnicking, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. In this state park, dogs are allowed in the day use areas during the off season, from October 1st to April 30th, and on the boat ramp areas to board vessels.
