Biddeford offers a piece of the great outdoors right in its city center! Clifford Park is 140 acres of wilderness and athletic facilities. There is a network comprised of 22 miles of trails that wind through woods, along streams and by a waterfall. Amenities include seasonal restrooms, athletic fields, a playground and picnic areas. Here your pup can romp around like a wild dog, and can even go off-leash on the trails as long as they stay under strict voice control. Be sure your doggo leaves only paw prints! After all that fresh air and exercise, head over to Elements Books Coffee Beer, located in the same neighborhood. As the name implies, here you can find a coffee shop and beer bar hosted within a bookstore. You can enjoy your book, coffee, or beer with your best pal at one of the outdoor dog friendly tables.

South Street
In the South Street neighborhood of Biddeford, you can find another park that is loved by people and their four-legged friends, Rotary Park. This park has something in it for everyone, including the family dog! The 72 acre park features a variety of athletic fields, a picnic grove, walking trails, all with gorgeous river views. Possibly the best part though, is the dog park! The Biddeford Dog Park has two separate fenced off areas, one for large breeds and another for the little guys. There is a hill that will tire your dog out fast while playing fetch! Waste bags are provided, but don’t forget some water for your parched pup! Dogs need to stay leashed when they’re not within the fenced off areas.

Bradley St / Franklin St
Just across the Saco River, you can find Biddeford’s sister town of Saco. In this neighborhood, you can find another puppy paradise, the Saco Dog Park! This dog park offers a safe place for your pup to enjoy some exercise and some pawsitive socialization. You can sit on one of the tree stumps in the shade while your pooch runs and plays. The Saco City Center isn’t all busy streets and shops. From this area you can also access the Eastern Trail. This trail starts in South Portland’s Bug Light Park, passes through Saco, and continues all the way to Kittery’s Pascatagua River. Parking for the trail in Saco can be found at the Mill Brook Business Park, just a 10 minute drive from Biddeford. There are 22 miles of trails off-road, and some scenic on-road routes. This trail is popular among cyclists, runners and dog walkers, and passes through changing scenery of salt marshes and woodlands. Since this is a multi-use path, pup’s need to stay leashed and get picked up after. If you want to stick around for a while, along the Eastern Trail in Saco you’ll find the Silver Springs Campground. They welcome dogs for a small deposit.

The nearby town of Old Orchard Beach is proud home to the K9 Veterans Memorial Dog Park. This dog park is located within the city center, under a 15 minute drive from Biddeford.
