A small town in York County, Maine, Old Orchard Beach is a gorgeous community of about 9,000 residents and a popular beach destination for New Englanders. This community has about ten vet clinics available within ten minutes of town, so your furry friend will always be close to quality healthcare.

One popular activity nearby is the Valley Street Dog Park, located twenty minutes northeast, in Portland, ME. Complete with benches, shade, decorative fire hydrants, lots of room to run, and water access during the warm months, this free-admission park is pup (and owner) heaven.

Just fifteen miles northeast, you can find more popular activities in South Portland. Clark’s Pond Trail is a beautiful, semi-paved nature walk that’s part of an ongoing project by the South Portland Land Trust. The full trail is only about a mile long, so it’s fantastic light exercise for you and Fido -- just be sure to bring your own water. Also nearby is Hinckley Park, a beautiful off-leash play area complete with two ponds (in which Fido is welcome to swim). The full park is forty acres, so there’s plenty of room to explore.

Don’t miss out on all these pawesome activities available to the dogs and dog owners of Old Orchard Beach and the surrounding south Maine community!
