Your pup won’t want to miss out on the Doggy and Me Tour, a walking tour that stops at five different doggy treat locations. Not only will your pal get to sample the local cuisine, all the tour’s profits are donated to the Animal Welfare Society of West Kennebunk. Scalawags and Digs, Divots, and Dogs are two pet boutiques your pal will appreciate. He can peruse the canine merchandise, choose a new toy, and even sample some biscuits. With an advanced reservation, your pup can join you on a tour with the Intown Trolley Company. Learn about Kennebunkport’s 300 year history with your pooch by your side.

Goose Rocks
If your four legged companion loves splashing in the surf, be sure to visit Goose Rocks Beach. Walk or jog with your pup along the three miles of shoreline while enjoying stunning views of Goosefare Bay and Timber Island. Bring a blanket, umbrella, plenty of water and stay awhile. At low tide, you can spot Goose Rocks, a barrier reef just off the coast. Keep in mind there are dog restrictions. During the peak summer months, dogs are not allowed on the beach between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. But from October 1 to March 31, they can romp and run off leash any time of day.

Beacon Corner
The Edwin L. Smith Preserve is definitely for the nature loving pup. If your pooch feels at home in the great outdoors, grab her leash and head over for some pawsome hiking. Sprawling over 1,000 acres, the preserve is a forested area with plenty of small streams. Trails range from .8 miles to 3.5 miles, and vary in degree of difficulty. Your pup can choose from Steele Trail, Fox Den Trail, Brook Trail, Trolley Trail, or Bobcat Ridge Trail. She’ll love sniffing her way through such a beautiful setting. Since the preserve is a prime wild life habitat, it’s crawling with creatures like deer, bobcats, coyotes, and rabbits.

Kennebunk Town Center
The neighboring community of Kennebunk has a couple beaches that are perfect for spending some quality time with your furry BFF. Pack up some water and towels and head over to Mother’s Beach. Your pup can stroll along the surf or splash in the waves. For a change of scenery, follow the sidewalk north for about a mile and a half until you reach Gooch’s Beach, where your canine companion can have even more fun in the sun. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on the beach between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the summer months. But from Labor Day to June 15, they are welcome any time of day.
Kennebunk Landing
When Kennebunkport dogs want to let loose and run free, they head over to the Kennebunk Dog Park. Located in Kennebunk, this off leash park is just a quick 10 minute drive from Kennebunkport. Your canine buddy will burn off some energy as he races around the park. Since he’ll meet new friends, he can practice his socialization skills. The park has a separate section for small dogs, as well as benches and a gazebo for pet parents. Running water is only available in the summer, so if you visit the park during the winter, be sure to bring your pal some water.
