Bring a boat and go fishing on the 27-acre lake, or play some catch in the open space. There are some tables near the boat launch where you can enjoy a meal with your canine companion. Keep your pooch on-leash and bring waste bags when you visit.

Winthrop Junction

The neighborhood of Winthrop Junction is a residential community located in southern Ishpeming. There are some duplexes and single-family homes here. Take a walk around the block for some exercise with your pup. When you're looking for a pawtastic place to go for a hike or jog, check out the Iron Ore Heritage Trail. You can access this 47-mile multi-use pathway at Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum on Euclid Avenue. Learn about the area's history from interpretive signs along the way. Dogs need to be on a leash and under control. Bring water and waste bags with you for the journey.

West Ishpeming

West Ishpeming includes single-family homes, a few churches, and the township recreation area. There are some quiet blocks in this neighborhood where you can go strolling with your four-footed friend. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a little green space and share an outdoor meal with your pooch, head to the Ishpeming Township Recreation Area located off Hollyhock Street. This small facility includes the township hall, several athletic fields, a playground, and picnic pavillion. Catch a game or play fetch with your canine companion here. Remember to keep Spot on a leash and to clean up his waste when you come here.

Ishpeming City Center

Ishpeming's City Center is a mixed-zone area with a public school, small businesses, and some residential streets. In this area, you can go back in history by visiting Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum. If you're looking for a place to take your fur baby for some exercise, head to the Ishpeming Playgrounds off 2nd Street or Empire Street. This facility has several ball fields, tennis courts, a picnic shelter, and some open space. Leash up and take Spot for a walk through the field in the park or on Morton's Trail here. Make sure you bring waste bags with you to clean up any messes.

Route 41/N 2nd St

The neighborhood around Route 41 and North Second Street includes the cemetery, an elementary school, and single-family homes. There are wooded roads here where you can get your daily exercise with Fido. For a special treat, take your furry friend to Al Quaal Recreation Area. This facility includes a disc golf course, hiking trails, a picnic area, and a fitness trail. Explore nature with your four-footed friend in this outdoor paradise. There are natural surface trails that go through the woods and wetlands here. Dogs can accompany you as long as they're on a leash. Make sure you bring water and waste bags for your outing.
