Here, you'll find Johnny Dogs, a pet-friendly restaurant that serves up gourmet jumbo dogs, burgers, and sandwiches. You can try specialty dogs like the Junkyard, Piggy, and the Homewrecker. Johnny Dogs also serves the "Almost World Famous Piggy Fries" with pulled pork, Monterrey jack cheese, orange pop BBQ, and buttermilk ranch. After a hearty meal at Johnny Dogs, you and Fido can head over to the Bay Shore Park to walk along the shore of the lake. Your little doggie is just waiting for a hot dog and nice walk in Munising!

If you visit Pictured Rocks National Park, which is only 4 minutes from the heart of Munising, you'll find views that are worth the barking! In Pictured Rocks, there are over 100 miles of trails, lofting sandstone cliffs, and waterfalls that take will take your breath away. Pets are allowed at Pictured Rocks and can join in as you camp and explore the wilderness. You can hike, swim, fish, and more at Pictured Rocks, with tons of "oppawtunities" for fun! Fido will be going "mutts" to get there!

Do your dogs wake you up every morning with wagging tails, eager for their morning walks? If you live off Lynn Street, you can stop by the Falling Rock Cafe & Bookstore during those early mornings! Falling Rock has a dog-friendly cafe where visitors and residents can get vegan and gluten-free options alongside brews from the Great Lakes Coffee Company. Specialty items recommended by the baristas include the mixed berry smoothie, smoked whitefish, and the grilled cheese sandwich. You and Fido can also shop around for new and used books in an eclectic library full of books worth the "paw-nder." Rip off a piece of your breakfast sandwich to keep Fido happy while you read!

Do your dogs like sandy beaches and shaking themselves dry after a swim? If you head 5 minutes west in Munising, you'll land at Munising Tourist Campground. This place is not just for tourists or the two-legged! There are over 127 scenic campsites to choose from, with a cool breeze blowing in from Lake Superior during the months the campgrounds are open. All the campgrounds are pet-friendly, but dogs must be on their leashes at all times. You and Fido can hike the series of trails that weave through the campground, head to one of the 3 waterfalls, or just lounge out on Sandy Point Beach. It's Fido's choice, and they'll choose them all!
Wagner Falls State Park
Does your dog bark when it starts to rain and try and eat each raindrop as it falls from the sky? Your Fido will really be impressed if you take a quick 3-minute drive south into Wagner Falls State Park. The 22-acre state park offers a "fetching" experience while walking along the Anna River to the Wagner Falls scenic site. As you walk along a half-mile trail between the hemlock and virgin pine trees, you'll begin to hear the crashing sound of the falls. Wagner Falls doesn't have an overtly steep incline, so the water flows slow enough for trout to swim down the stream. This means areas to fish with Fido. Your Fido will pawsitively will love visiting this state park!
