The Masonville Township Recreation Area is located in the town of Rapid River, just a short 34-mile drive south of Eben Junction. This recreation area boasts 25 acres of pawtastic outdoor fun for you and Fido to enjoy together. There are hiking trails, perfect for all skill levels throughout, some of which will lead you to the Rapid River Falls. Munising is a quaint city, which lies 19 miles northeast of Eben Junction, and is home to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. A must-stop in the town of Deerton, 27 miles north of Eben Junction, is the Eben Ice Caves Trailhead, located in the Hiawatha National Forest. This trailhead is part of the Rock River Wilderness Area, which offers a whopping 4000 acres of pawtastic, pup-friendly fun on their miles of hiking trails. There is suitable terrain for all pup-abilities here! In the winter, this trail leads to ice caves, forming from the melting and thawing of snow. It is best to wear ice cleats to view these spectacular caves. Some areas can become quite steep, so plan accordingly. Pack water and snacks.
