From there, the trail goes 17 miles south, ending in Traverse City. Along the way, it passes by beautiful vineyards, cherry orchards, and wooded areas. Beitner Park is another furrific place to take your dog for an on-leash walk. Located 36 miles from Northport, this park has five miles of trails to explore with your furry best friend. The beach is located near the start of the trail. After you’re finished at the beach, you can hop back on the Good Harbor Bay Trail if you’d like and complete it. The beautiful, mostly flat trail takes you through wetlands and a pine-oak forest.
