Kilkaska
In the village of Kilkaska, 9 miles southeast of Rapid City, you and your fur-ever friend will enjoy being outdoors together at family and dog-friendly, Chalker Park. This park features plenty of open, green space for relaxing or letting Fido stretch his legs on an extended leash. A large and fenced playground is perfect for the kiddos to spend some time. There are sports courts where you can catch a game, and picnic facilities to have lunch. Restrooms are provided on site, as well as drinking fountains. It is important for you to keep your pawtastic pup on leash here.

Elk Rapids
The village of Elk Rapids, 19 miles northwest of Rapid City, sports Elk Rapids Day Park is just waiting for you and your pup to enjoy a multitude of hiking trails, perfect for all pup-abilities. After your hike, enjoy relaxing under shady pavilions. Or try Rotary Park where you can jump on the Elk River Water Trails, which are great to take your pup canoeing or kayaking. Restrooms and water are on-site at both parks. And for some relaxation, check out the Veteran’s Memorial Park nearby. Afterwards, head to Harbor Café or Cellar 152 for some dog-friendly, patio dining with your pup!

North Three Mile/ E South Airport
In the North Three Mile/ E South Airport Road neighborhood of the city of Traverse City, which lies 24 miles southwest of Rapid City, you and your fur-ever friend can enjoy the Traverse City State Forest. Here you will find miles of hiking and biking trails that will keep you and your fur-ever friend in shape for a long time! Also enjoy fishing and boating with your pup by your side. There is a restroom at the trailhead, but be sure to pack plenty of water. It is best to keep your pup on leash on the multi-use trails for safety.

Alden
Pack up your pup and head to the town of Alden, 7 miles north of Rapid City, to enjoy the day together at Depot Park. Located on the banks of beautiful Torch Lake, the park offers something for everyone. You can take a walk to the lakefront and enjoy the scenic beauty, or throw down a blanket and share a picnic under the shade pavilions. Let the kiddies visit the playground or climb on the old train car that is located here. Tennis anyone? You and your pawtastic pup can catch a match in progress while enjoying quality time together.
West Williamsburg
A short 10 miles west of Rapid City is the West Williamsburg neighborhood, in the city of Williamsburg. Here you will find the beautiful Sayler Park which lies on the East Grand Traverse Bay. There are perfect places here to picnic with your pup, and a playground for the kiddies. Or head to either the Deepwater Point Natural Area, or the Yuba Creek Natural Area for hundreds of acres of outdoor recreational fun together. Both are dog-friendly and have miles of trails to hike, and lots of open spaces to just relax. Yuba Creek also offers a scenic overlook of Bay Ridge.
