This popular campground and park has about two miles of unpaved hiking trails that you can explore with your dog. These trails go through picturesque forest and along the stunning Elk Lake. Bring some water and doggy bags with you, and have a pawesome time hiking here. If you’re hungry after your hike, grill some burgers or hot dogs for you and your pup on one of the park’s charcoal grills. Enjoy your meal at Whitewater’s scenic picnic area.

North Division Street

When you’re in this Traverse City neighborhood, don’t make the faux paw of missing Traverse City Dog Park. Located 13 miles from Williamsburg, this dog park has two fenced areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Both areas have grassy fields for your dog to run around on, and doggy bags are available. There are no water fountains in the dog park, but there is a hose nearby you can use to fill your pup’s bowl. If your dog is a good boy or girl at the dog park, reward them with a delicious treat from Dog Bakery. This bakery offers 20 flavors of natural dog biscuits, including mint, apple, and cheese. Your pup will love sinking their teeth into one of these treats!

East Silver Lake Road

If you’re searching for another fun off-leash area for your pup, check out Silver Lake Dog Park. This dog park is 18 miles from Williamsburg, and it has separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs. Within each area, you’ll find grassy fields and groves of trees that help keep the park shady and cool. Water is also available for your dog within the dog park. If playing in the dog park makes you and your pup hungry, grab lunch at Mulligan’s Pub and Grill. Sit at one of their six dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy stuffed burgers filled with cheese and bacon, as well as salads, sandwiches, and more.

Center Road

This Traverse City neighborhood is home to Mission Point Lighthouse and Beach, a furtastic place to spend the day with your dog. This park is located 29 miles from Williamsburg, and it allows dogs on and off-leash. While you’re here, you can hike with your dog in the five acres of woodland surrounding Mission Point Lighthouse. You can also bring your dog to play at Mission Point Beach, where you can go for walks on the sand or simply relax and enjoy views of Grand Traverse Bay. This park is nine miles from Williamsburg, and it has numerous hiking trails that go through the woods and lead you to the shore of East Arm Grand Traverse Bay. Plus, the park is also filled with stunning sculptures made by local artists. You and your dog will always have a great time at this unique park! After the park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Harbor Café. Grab one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy classic omelets, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches.
