Elk Rapids is a small town in Michigan with a stunning world of beauty surrounding it on all sides. A pair of elk horns shed from a full grown elk is rumored to have given this former iron-working town its name. It was founded in 1900 as an official part of Antrim County. When the industrial side of the economy started to diminish, the town found a revival in the tourism industry, building resorts all around the water to attract all manner of visitors to the town!

Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay are just a short walk from your doorstep! The rural landscape makes it the pawfect place to raise a family, or just spend some of that hard-earned vacation time. The entire town covers just one square mile, so getting around is simple. The town has its own public beaches, restaurants, shops, and a marina!

There are two animal hospitals in Elk Rapids, making finding quality care for your pup a breeze no matter if you are moving into the area or just passing through.

One of the top-rated dog-friendly restaurants in the area is Harbor Cafe. This simple and adorable cafe in the heart of Elk Rapids serves up delicious breakfast and lunch options throughout the day, with plenty of outdoor tables to choose from!
