Cotton Lake Dr/ 16th Street
Take Fido over to one of the newest parks in Windom, the Windom Recreation Area. This dogtastic park features three softball fields, a baseball field, sledding hill, restrooms, and a play area. If your pup loves running on the grass, there is a huge field that the two of you can play fetch on. If you want to get a good day of exercise in, take a walk around the 1.35-mile paved walking trail that goes throughout the park. Make sure to keep you dog on a leash while you visit the park, and don't forget your clean-up bags.36
River Road
If you and you pooch are looking for a quieter park to visit together, the Dynamite Park offers 3-acres of green grass to roll around in and play a fantastic game of fetch. The park also includes an enclosed picnic shelter, basketball courts, restrooms, and picnic tables outside so the two of you can enjoy a tasty picnic together. There is no running water in this park, so make sure to bring some for you and your dog. Bring your clean-up bags to ensure that your pup doesn't leave anything behind in this public area.24
Cottonwood Lake
Grab Fido and head over to Cottonwood Lake for a great day out on the lake. This 146-acre lake offers a public beach, bathhouse, boat access, playground, volleyball courts, and tons of area to fish. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash while visiting, and don't let them jump into the water. If you and your pup are having a great time at the lake, then take advantage of the camping they have available. If the lake isn't your thing, then head over to Tegels Park, which is just across the street. The park is 6-acres and has two picnic shelters, volleyball courts, and boat ramp.12

Fifteen miles out of Windom is the Kilen Woods State Park in Lakefield. This state park is perfect to take Fido to for a fun day of hiking and exploring. The hiking trail will take you along the Des Moines River where you and your pup can get a beautiful view of the lake and have a relaxing hike. If you aren't a fan of hiking, you and your pup can picnic instead or even rent a canoe and go out on the river. Make sure to keep Fido on a leash while you visit and bring some clean-up bags.

If you and your pup love exploring, then check out the pawsome trails that Wolf Lake has to offer. While at Wolf Lake you can hunt, fish, view wildlife, and hike around with your dog. Make sure to keep your dog on leash while you hike around, especially since hunting is popular in the area. The park is most known for being home to 70 waterfowl nesting areas that include alarge amount of Trumpeter Swans.
