Sunshine Street/ Golden Ave
When your furry friend needs to burn off some extra energy, head over to Cruse Dog Park in the Sunshine Street and Golden Avenue neighborhood. Throw off the leash and let her run free in this fenced 6 acre park. She can enjoy mingling with new four legged friends or just explore the park solo. Either way, she’ll be appreciative to be outside sniffing some fresh air. There is a 1.5 acre section for dogs on the smaller side, so little dogs can enjoy the park at their own pace. Keep in mind registration is required before using the park. Take a trip to the Park Board Administration Building to sign up. Your pup will be pawsitively glad you did!36

Sunshine Street/ Grant Ave
Fassnight Park in the Sunshine Street Grant Avenue area is a pupperific place to walk your furry friend. This picturesque park has a paved walkway that follows Fassnight Creek. Leash up your pup and take a jaunt around the park to get his heart rate pumping. He’ll love the exercise and the chance to be outdoors. With plenty of trees, you can take a break and relax in some shade. The park also has a swimming pool, play equipment, and sport courts. If you are just visiting Springfield, there is a Days Inn nearby that welcomes up to two small canine friends. Make a reservation and let your fur baby get a good night sleep.

Galloway
For a long afternoon of frolicking and fun, take your dog to the Sequiota Park in the southeastern neighborhood of Galloway. This 28 acre area provides enough room to play and explore, and will keep your pup sniffing for more! Grills and picnic areas provide great places for lunch, and the onsite restrooms and drinking fountains can allow you to extend your visit. Take one of the nature trails that wind through acres and acres of gorgeous scenery, or spend some time at the lake. When you and your dog are ready for some real adventure, head to one of three natural caves. While two of them are quite small and require a crawl to get into, the third is rather large, and features jagged formations, pools of spring water, hanging stalactites, and perhaps even a bat or two!
