Arbour Hills
Parr Hill Park is a great place to take a stroll with your pooch on a nice sunny day. That’s not all that will entertain your dog though. Parr Hill Park also has its own dog park where your four-legged friend can frolic and make new friends. Parr Hill Park also includes its own body of water, so you know what that means! You can watch your best bud do the doggy paddle as they cool off after a long day of running around in the heat. Keep in mind that although the dog park is an off leash area, the Parr Hill Park is not.

John Cox
The John Cox neighborhood in Joplin is home to Landreth Park. This large outdoor area boasts lots of amenities to please both you and your pup. Once your dog has run out some energy in this green space, the picnic tables, pavilion, and grills offer a place for a picnic. The tennis courts, volleyball courts, and baseball diamond give you and your dog ample opportunities to relax while watching a game. Because of the many activities often going on at this park, be sure to keep your dog leashed. Enjoy the walking trail, and then settle in for a show at the amphitheater. The park has restrooms on site, allowing you to stay as long as you and your dog wish.

Blendville South
For a truly memorable outdoor experience your pup is sure not to forget, spend some time in Cunningham Park, located in the central neighborhood of Blendville South. This large family friendly park offers playgrounds and basketball courts for the kids, and ponds, a walking track and walking trails for pups! Grills and picnic tables offer a great place to have lunch between romps through this amazing green space. Not enough outside fun? Head across the street to Mercy Park, where your dog can explore the walking trail, or gaze at the fountain in the middle of the lake. Be sure to pay your respects to the victims of the 2011 tornado at the memorials, plaques, and at the waterfall variously throughout both parks.

McClelland Park
The McClelland Park neighborhood houses McClelland Park. This lovely green space offers picnic tables and a pavilion, a playground, and plenty of trails for you and your dog to explore. There are restrooms and water is available on site. Keep your dog on leash near the 18 hole disc golf course, as he may want to chase those flat frisbees! Walk further south in the park to Grand Falls, the largest continuously flowing waterfall in all of Missouri. Below the falls are outcroppings of chert which help to create pools your dog can splash around in while chasing frogs and other pond life.

Airport Drive
Head to the bordering town of Airport Drive for a walk through it’s beautiful Schifferdecker Park. You can let your dog roam around off leash since the park boasts a fence that blocks any curious paws from wandering into the road or the golf course of the same name. This enjoyable park boasts pavilions, grills, and picnic tables for a sit down meal or snack. Volleyball courts, horseshoes, and a basketball court allow for a little sporting entertainment between runs through the park. Restrooms are available, as is water, but be sure to bring a bowl so your pup can enjoy a drink with you.
