Jerico Springs
In the town of Jerico Springs, 14 miles northwest of Arcola, you will find a small park for you and your pawtastic friend to enjoy. Bertens Park offers lots of grassy, open areas which are the perfect place to lay out a blanket and relax with your fur-ever friend next to you. Enjoy the day in each other’s company and take a stroll around the park. There is a playground for the kiddos and picnic tables where you can share a snack. Be sure to bring mutt mitts to clean up after Fido to keep this park lovely for everyone.

Greenfield
The city of Greenfield, 10 miles south of Arcola, offers City Park, which is pup-friendly and pawtastically fun! There are 10 acres of well-manicured land comprised of rolling hills and scenic views. You will find plenty of walking opportunities on the paved paths throughout, perfect for all pup-abilities. This is where the city’s pool is located, and there are tennis courts and other sports courts where you and pup can enjoy a friendly match in progress. Playground equipment for the kids is top-notch here. Restroom facilities and drinking fountains are located throughout. All you need is a leash for your pup!

Dadeville
Stockton State Park in the village of Dadeville, 17 miles southeast of Arcola, offers an abundance of outdoor fun for those water-loving people and pups! Located on Stockton Lake, this area covers 2176 acres and offers visitors pup-friendly boating and fishing fun. Or, you and Fido can hike for miles here. Choose Nyblad Trail’s .5 distance, meandering along the lake, Umber Ridge Trail’s 1.65-mile excursion, or the 8-mile-long Lakeview Trail, suited for the more athletic pups. Plan an overnighter with your fur-ever friend at their camping facilities. Be sure to pack plenty of food and water for your adventure together.

Aldrich
Pack up your pup and head to Bona Glade Natural Area, in the town of Aldrich, 20 miles east of Arcola, for a taste of the outdoors. There are 20 acres of nature waiting for you and your pawtastic pup. This area is frequented by hikers and bird watchers. You can wander through this area with your pup on leash. Be sure to pack a camera and binoculars to sight some rare bird species. You can also plan an overnight camping experience with your pup at the dog-friendly camp sites located here. There are no restrooms, so plan accordingly.
South Greenfield
In the village of South Greenfield, 12 miles south of Arcola, you and your fur-ever friend can visit Fiddler’s Ford Access, a great place to connect with nature. This rural outdoor area is geared for fisherman and is a prime fishing location. You can show your casting skills to your pup! Make sure to bring a picnic lunch and plenty of water. There are no restrooms here, so plan accordingly. Fido is allowed off leash here, as long as he does not scare away the fish! Hunting is allowed seasonally, so be sure to plan ahead during that time.
