Belews Creek, North Carolina has never been very big. It was the heart of the Native American settlements up until the 1900s. In the 1970s, the railroad placed a depot in Belews Creek. It also had one general store that turned into the post office in the early 1980s. The main source of income for the town was its energy source. This was a coal-powered energy plant that caused many concerns for residents, but was also their lifeline. Tobacco was grown here and then ran through the mill that was powered by the coal power plant. It was then shipped on to other places on the rail line. The town had a purpose. The people overlooked their concerns in favor of the town's prosperity.

Today, this historic little town is a wonderful place to visit with your pup. Bring your pup and come visit Friends Farm Bed and Breakfast. The atmosphere of this quaint B&B will feel like home away from home. You can even bring your pup to walk through the farm as long you have them on a leash. This is a great place for the whole family because it offers a unique experience for both young and old.
