If you are looking for a taste of the south, you should swing on over to the Dan River Restaurant. You can grab your favorite southern comfort dish, like country fried steak, to go with your sweet tea while taking in the fresh mountain air. You and your dog are welcome to grab an outdoor table with beautiful mountain views. The barbecue is smoked on-site and is fall off the fork tender. Your mouth will water as you read over the menu. Oh, and all of this tail wagging food is less than ten miles from Belews Creek, so now you don't have an excuse not to come and eat!

Broad Street

Washington Dog Park is about fifteen miles from Belews Creek. It is an off-leash dog park that welcomes you and your pup for a day of fun. This is a completely fenced area. There is just one large area for all the dogs to play in, so this probably isn't the best place to visit if you have a shy or timid pup. The water fountains are clean and easy to reach, and the cleaning station has plenty of baggies. All you need to do is come on down and take a seat. You will meet lots of pet parents while your fur baby has the chance to play.  Overall, this is a good dog park that's open to the public.

Mountain Street

Vivian F. Bennett Memorial Dog Park is located inside Fourth of July Park. It is a full dog park that has two areas for dogs to play in. This way, the little dogs have somewhere safe to play away from the big dogs. The cleaning stations are always stocked so that you have what you need to clean up after your dog. The park also provides watering stations that you and your dog stay hydrated while you play. You will love how clean and well-maintained this park is. All you need to bring with you is your sense of adventure! This dog park is less than ten miles from you.

Downtown

The Deli is located on main street in Kernersville. It is a dog-friendly deli that has a wide array of different lunch dishes. No matter what you're craving, you're sure to find something here to please your palates! The deli offers both hot and cold subs in addition to classic and new fare that will appease even the pickiest of eaters. From low carb to vegetarian, they can help you to stay on your diet in a healthy and delicious way. The outdoor tables are comfortable and large enough for you to bring your dog to dine at your feet (or simply beg for a bite of your food!).

Lake Brandt

Come take a walk through green spaces, meadows, and even scenic neighborhoods. Lake Brandt Greenway - Palmetto Trail was a former rail line which has been repurposed into a walking trail system. This is a Rails-to-Trails effort, a conservancy that breathes new life into former rail lines. This part of the system stretches through several cities, so you can take your pick of where you'd like to start! The section near Lake Brandt is Summerfield is the pawfect place for a quick stroll. You and your dog can get here in less than twenty minutes.
