West Wendover Ave
If you’re looking for a fun place to hike with your dog, check out Gibson Park. This pawesome 200-acre park welcomes dogs on-leash, and it has beautiful paved and unpaved hiking trails you can explore with your pup. These trails take you through a tranquil forest and over a small creek. You’ll also pass by a scenic pond. Bring some water and doggy bags with you, and have a great day out at the park. If you’re hungry after your walk, head to SidWill’s Café. Sit at one of their five dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy all-American comfort food, including meatloaf, burgers, macaroni and cheese, and chicken pie.

Memorial Industrial School Road
Looking for a furrific off-leash area where your dog can run, play, and make new friends? Check out Happy Hounds at Horizon Park! Located 32 miles from Jamestown, this off-leash park includes separate areas for big and small dogs. Both areas are fully fenced and double-gated, and they have tons of space for dogs to run around. While your dog plays with their friends, you can watch from one of the park’s many benches. Happy Hounds also has doggy bags, and it has a doggy water fountain that’s perfect for thirsty dogs. Your pup will have a pawsitively amazing time playing in this park.

British Woods
British Woods is home to another fun off-leash area, Stephen M. Hussy Bark Park. This dog park is 15 miles from Jamestown, and it offers three separate areas called Lots A, B, and C. Lot A is for smaller or shy dogs, and Lots B and C are open to dogs of all sizes. All three areas have lots of space for dogs to run and play. If your dog gets thirsty while they play, water is available in the park. If you want to get a bite to eat after the dog park, head over to the Village Tavern. This restaurant welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables, and they offer classic bar fare, including flatbreads, burgers, and chicken club sandwiches.

Haw River State Park
If you want to spend the day hiking with your dog, Haw River State Park is perfect for you. This park is about 30 miles from Jamestown, and it has three mostly flat trails you can explore with your pup. If you want to go on a long walk, try the 3.2-mile Great Blue Heron Loop. This trail takes you through wetlands and hardwood forest. If you’re in the mood for a shorter walk, go for the .66-mile Lake Loop Trail, which takes you around Robins Neck Lake. Or, try the 1.42-mile Piedmont Loop Trail, which goes through a floodplain swamp and oak-hickory forest. No matter which trail you choose, you’re sure to have fun hiking here!

West Mountain Street
This Kernersville neighborhood is home to Vivian F. Bennett Memorial Dog Park, a furtastic off-leash area. This park is 16.5 miles from Jamestown, and it includes separate fenced-in areas for big and small dogs. Both areas are filled with trees, keeping the park and your pup cool on hot summer days. Water and doggy bags are also available for your pup in the park. Bring a tennis ball or Frisbee, and have a good time playing here! After the park, continue the fun with lunch at Deli on Main. This casual restaurant allows dogs at their outdoor tables, and they serve a wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches and delicious ice cream and pie for dessert.
