Dog Walking in High Point

Approximately 17 miles southwest from Greensboro, North Carolina, lies the city of High Point, an important economic hub for the area. High Point has always had a strong presence of the manufacturing sector and, in particular, the textile industry and furniture manufacturing. It's estimated that there are over 100,000, or hovering right around 100,000, people living in High Point as of today, which naturally means there are a large amount of pets in town.

High Point does not have its own off-leash dog park at this time. This, however, does not stop owners from taking out their dog(s) for a good, long walk. The regional park and natural trails in the region are a perfect way for dogs and their owners to get their exercise in.

Notable trails in the area are the High Point Greenway Trail System and the Piedmont Environmental Center Trail. The first trail offers 9 miles of a linear park along the bank of rivers and streams for a pleasant and easy-going hike, The second trail poses a great challenge and is only available from September until November.

There are also quite a few venues in High Point, North Carolina, which do not oppose dogs with one of them being Shane’s Collection, the famous antique market in “The Bureau” building. There also various breweries and restaurants in town with outside seating area’s such as The Brewers Kettle and The Penny Path Cafe and Crepe Shop.
