Germanton has some activities for you and your pup to enjoy. Germanton is home to Happy Hounds at Horizon Park, located at 2820 Memorial Industrial Drive. This dog park has two acres of fully fenced grass for running and sniffing out a pal or two. One separate fenced section is set aside for the smaller dogs. This dog park has water fountains designed for both people and their dogs. There are waste stations with doggie bags for those necessary cleanups. There are also plenty of benches near shade trees for the human companions. This pawesome park is open from 7 a.m. until sunset.

Kernersville

Kernersville

Kernersville is eighteen miles south of Germanton. Kernersville Dog Park is located with the larger Fourth of July Park. The dog park has a fully fenced enclosure for off-leash exercise and play. There is a separate fenced area for the smaller dogs. The area is natural terrain and grass with trees providing shade. The dog park provides a watering station for the dogs (but it may be turned off during certain months). Doggie waste bags and receptacles are available for those necessary cleanups. The main park offers scenic hiking trails for you and your pup to explore on leash.

Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem

The bustling city of Winston-Salem is just fourteen miles south of Germanton. Washington Dog Park is located at 1490 Broad Street. The dog park is a fully fenced enclosure for off-leash running and socialization. There is a separate fenced enclosure for the small dogs. There are specially designed water fountains offer you and your pup drinking water, so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own. This dog park encloses natural terrain, and there are trees within its confines. A small creek flows through the large dog enclosure. Human companions have picnic tables placed under shade trees from which to watch and supervise their furry friend.

Greensboro

Greensboro

Greensboro is forty miles east of Germanton, but don’t let the distance discourage you from making the trip. Country Park offers a designated area just for your dog, which encompasses a large, semi-wooded area that’s fenced and divided into three sections. One section is reserved for small dogs. Shaded seats and drinking water are just a couple of necessary amenities offered here. The Country Park offers additional opportunities for dog and person to get some on-leash  exercise on the many scenic walking trails. The main park has many picnic sites and shelters that make it easy to eat a meal with a furry friend in the great outdoors. Bring a sandwich and Fido’s favorite toy to make a day of it!

Pinnacle

Pinnacle

Pinnacle is sixteen miles northwest of Germanton, and is home to the gorgeous Pilot Mountain State Park. This state park offers a person and their pup many outdoor activities to enjoy together. Pilot Mountain offers beautiful scenic and rugged hiking trails. The trails are marked by difficulty, which ranges from easy to strenuous. Dogs are welcome on any trail with their person as long as they stay leashed. The State Park also has numerous sites to picnic with a four-legged friend. For the full experience, tents or trailers may camp overnight in the State Park. Dogs are allowed as long as they remain on leash or within the tent or trailer
