Piscassic

Piscassic

There is so much to do in the Piscassic neighborhood, beginning with a visit to the Rivers Reach Open Space. This expansive stretch of untouched wilderness boasts a mixture of woodlands and fields, providing plenty of variety for your dog walk. The Inland Acres Town Forest is also worth a visit, showcasing a native forest that is home to so much plant and animal life. There are several trails criss-crossing through this forest, offering up many miles of hiking for you and Fido to make the most of. While dogs are welcome in both of these public green spaces, you do need to make sure that you keep your pooch on a lead at all times, and don't forget to bring doggie bags and drinking water with you too.

Stratham

Stratham

Directly adjacent to Newfields is the Stratham neighborhood of Stratham, and there are a few different parks worth checking out here. One of the most popular is Stratham Hill Park, because not only is this park home to several sports facilities, a picnic area, a pavilion and a playground, but it also contains the Stratham Hill Park Trail. This hiking trail loops out for just over six miles, taking you through woods, fields, and even an outdoor exercise area if you could do with even more of a fitness challenge. If your pup would prefer a shorter walk, head over to the smaller Steven's Park, where you will find sports fields, tennis courts and a playground.

This neighborhood also provides access to the Exeter Highlands Open Space, where you will find dense woodlands intermingled with wildflower meadows. Ladyslipper Dr

Ladyslipper Dr

The Newmarket neighborhood of Ladyslipper Drive is next to Newfields, meaning you won't have to travel far to access even more large expanses of greenery for your pup to frolic about in. The two main green areas in this neighborhood are right next to each other, making it easy to explore both in one visit. Both the Sewall Farm Open Space and the Lita Lane Parcel boast similar features when it comes to terrain, with both fields and woodlands to explore. You will likely meet quite a few other pooches on the trails that snake through these parks, just make sure to keep yours on a lead.

Newmarket

Newmarket

The busy Newmarket neighborhood of Newmarket is next to Newfields, and offers up plenty for you and your pooch to see and do. Begin with a stroll around Schanda Park, which many would say is the prettiest park in Newmarket, thanks to its idyllic location along the Lamprey River. This park boasts some unique features, such as a traditional Native American fish weir and the town's historic mills, while also containing boat ramps, picnic areas and a short paved path. Another pawsome short walk can be found at Heron Point, along the Heron Point Trail, which winds its way along a section of the river. The trail is just under a mile in length, and there are a few trails leading down to the river itself if you and Fido need to cool off.
