Newmarket
The Newmarket neighborhood lies at the heart of town, meaning that there is plenty for you and Fido to see and do here. This is where you will find Schanda Park, one of the most scenic parks in Newmarket, situated along the tidal portion of the Lamprey River. Although this park may be small at just half an acre in size, it boasts everything from historic mills and a traditional Native American fish weir, to boat ramps and picnic tables, making it well worth a visit. If your pooch could do with a longer walk, head on over to the Leo A. Landroche Memorial Field, where you will find several sports facilities along with a paved walking path.

Lamprey River Community
Located along the banks of the Squamscott River, the Lamprey River Community neighborhood is an incredibly picturesque one, with beautiful riverside panoramas. While your pup may not be that interested in the views, a visit to the Moody Point Open Space area will definitely get that tail wagging. This large expanse of wilderness features both dense forest as well as grassy meadows, giving you and Fido a choice of terrain to play on. There are also a few un-maintained walking trails snaking their way through the grounds, making it easy to explore your surroundings. While dogs are allowed in this public space, they do need to be kept on a lead at all times.
24
Ladyslipper Dr
Although Ladyslipper Drive may be quite a small neighborhood, it provides access to a couple of green areas that your pooch will absolutely love. Begin at the Sewall Farm Open Space, where you will find large grassy fields that are encircled by patches of dense woodland, making for a pawriffic dog walk. If your pup still needs more exercise, the Lita Lane Parcel is right next to the Sewall Farm Open Space, and boasts similar features for you and your pooch to explore. Dogs are welcome in both of these public spaces, but a lead, doggie bags and some drinking water for Fido are essential.
12
Piscassic
The Newfields neighborhood of Piscassic is right next to Newmarket, and boasts a couple of parks that are pawfect for a walk with Fido. Begin at Libby Park, which is a small passive park that provides access to the Newfields Trail. This trail stretches out for just under five miles, looping you around beautiful wildflower meadows that are especially colorful in the warmer months. Another pawriffic walk in this neighborhood can be found at the Inland Acres Town Forest. Although the trails here are not marked, they are well worn, making it easy to follow along the main trail, as well as the smaller side trails that branch off from this.

Durham
Less than a mile away from Newmarket is the Durham neighborhood of Durham, and there is plenty for you and Fido to do here. When it comes to dog walks, one of the most popular spots in this neighborhood is the 171 acre Oyster River Forest, which consists of a mixture of both woodlands and fields. There are a few recreational activities that can be enjoyed here, from fishing to birding, as well as a network of trails that you and Fido can follow. If the two of you are feeling hungry after all of that walking, stop off for a bite to eat at Tacomano Street Food. This dog-friendly restaurant serves up dishes inspired by Mexican street food, with some unique menu options to choose from.
