The city of Elmer, New Jersey was incorporated in 1893. It is not a very large town and was named after Lucius Elmer, a judge and a Congressman from the area.

There are several fun activities for you and your canine friend to do in this city. If you want a very cool place to stay while you are visiting this city, head over to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park. This campground welcomes you to bring your furry friend with you; just make sure that your pup stays on a leash during your stay. There are bike paths to take a walk with your pooch and a lake where you can enjoy fishing alongside Fido.

If you and your pup are interested in dining together, there are two amazing restaurants that welcome dogs to join their owners for dinner. The first is The New Dodge’s Market, which has an entire outside porch that is available all year round for you and your pup to enjoy a meal together. Don't miss "Yappy Hour" each Wednesday; you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet for a set price, and your dog can get a specially prepared meal made just for them for $5! The staff is very friendly and loves to give your furry friend attention.

The other restaurant is Steakouts Home Plate, which has a bar/restaurant atmosphere. They have a lot of outside seating on the lawn under a huge pavilion for you and your canine friend. It is nice to know there are establishments that cater to you and your canine friend. You'll definitely enjoy your time together with your pup in this pawesome city.
