North Buena
North Buena is a mostly undeveloped area of land full of open green spaces. This makes it the pawfect spot for a dog-friendly picnic with plenty of space to throw around a tennis ball or a Frisbee. The Unexpected Wildlife Refuge is just a few minutes farther north and is a wonderfully peaceful place to enjoy some quiet time with your dog in nature. There are paths and trails there that you can explore with your leashed canine companion. Just don't forget your doggie waste bags for easy clean-up before you head back home or to your next pupperific adventure.36

Wheat Rd
Wheat Road is part of the southern tip of Buena. You and your dog will find quite a few streams, ponds, and green spaces that you can visit on a crisp, clear day together. You can pack a picnic basket for an afternoon full of snacks and Frisbee before grabbing some friends for some fun at Ricky's Outdoor Bar, where dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables during the warmer months. The area north of Interstate 40 is known as Central Buena. It is there you will find plenty of family- and dog-friendly real estate. You will also find the Pancoast Preserve is a lovely spot just a few minutes to the east of Central Buena where you can take your dog for a long walk on a warm weekend morning. There are trails and streams there where you and your leashed pup are welcome to roam to your hearts' content.
