Thirty minutes south of Philadelphia, pups and their parents will enjoy the pooch-friendly activities in Mullica Hill. If you are searching for a great place to live or visit with your furry family members, Mullica Hill offers the benefits of a small town just miles away from the big city attractions. Although there are no veterinarian clinics in Mullica Hill, you can travel to Swedesboro just a couple minutes north for both routine appointments and emergency care.
Check out the Ella Harris Recreation Park with your pup. This lovely area features a running track covering a little over a half a mile. You can walk with your pooch and get in some laps while Fido sniffs the grass along the way. Kids will enjoy the playground, and there are clean restrooms available near the parking area. While strolling with your pup, you will probably see friends and neighbors out enjoying the day at the park.
If you like to walk with your pooch early in the morning, stop by Crescent Moon Coffee and Tea for a drink and sandwich. You can relax at the outdoor tables while Fido enjoys a drink of water and a snack.
With pawsome amenities amidst a small town vibe, you and your pup are sure to fall in love with all that Mullica Hill has to offer.
Five minutes from the center of town, wine lovers and their pups can enjoy a day at the Heritage Vineyards. You can walk through the grounds and admire the scenery before relaxing at the outdoor seating and sampling the various local wines. During the fall, plan to bring your pooch for the apple picking and hayride activities on the weekends. This is one of the most popular vineyards in the area, and you will often see friends and their furry companions enjoying a warm day in the outdoors. Just remember to bring doggie waste bags and keep your pooch on his leash.
If your pooch loves walking along nature trails, Alcyon Park in Pittman is a great place to spend the day. You can stroll along the nature paths around the lake while Fido sniffs the plants and trees. There is a jogging path where you can get your heart rate up, and then find a shaded bench and relax with your pooch and a drink of water. If your pooch likes the water, take out a canoe or small boat and have fun on the lake. If you need a healthy snack, stop by A Fresh Start where meals are made with healthy local ingredients. Another option for food is Mannino’s Cucina Italiana where you can sit at one of the four outdoor tables and enjoy pizza or pasta with your pooch.
Only five miles east of Mullica Hill, Ceres Park is located in Sewell. You can walk along the trails and let your pup sniff the trees and flowers, or cross over the creek into the grassy field. You can hike through the trees and admire the wildlife, but the trails are dirt and you need to be careful where you step. Make sure to bring your own doggie waste bags and keep the trails clean. If you need a pooch-friendly restaurant, Barnsboro Inn offers amazing tavern cuisine including shellfish, tacos, and burgers. You can relax on the outdoor patio with Fido and enjoy the fresh air while you eat.
Just 10 minutes west of Mullica Hill, the Locke Avenue Park in nearby Swedesboro is a great place to walk your pup or watch a little league game. The walking trail is paved and perfect for a stroll with Fido, and the kids and your pooch will enjoy rolling in the grass or sniffing the trees. You can refill water bottles at the fountain, and then relax on a shaded bench and watch the kids at the playground. After an afternoon at the park, head over to Rode’s Fireside Restaurant and Tavern for delicious Italian-American style food. You and your pup can sit on the patio and the staff will bring your pooch some water and a treat.
The Gloucester County Dog Park in the Logan Township is just 10 miles northwest of Mullica Hill, and is a great destination for Fido and his friends. The park features a water fountain and 2.5 acres of space to run and play. There are two separate areas for both large dogs and small pups, and Fido will love socializing with his friends. Pup parents can relax on one of the eight shaded benches, or sit in the gazebo and chat with neighbors. If you are traveling along Interstate 295, the TA or Travel Center of America is a perfect place to stop and let your pooch stretch his legs. There is a designated pet area with waste bags and trash receptacles and the store even carries pet products!
