Riverwinds

West Deptford's Riverwinds neighborhood is where you will find some of the best dog walks in town. The most popular park in this area is the West Deptford Park, which sprawls out for 86.5 acres. There are several sports facilities here, from soccer to baseball to softball, as well as a 2.3 mile paved trail that is pawfect for a hike with Fido. If your pooch would prefer a shorter walk, there are a few small neighborhood parks in Riverwinds. The Crownpoint & Church Park has a playground and basketball court, while the Lecato & Mansion Park is home to a tot lot and a short paved path.

West End

West End

Directly adjacent to West Deptford is the West End neighborhood of Woodbury, and there are a couple of parks here that your pooch will love. The Woodbury Creek Park is home to Woodbury Creek, making it a great spot for water-based activities, including fishing and canoeing. There is also a loop trail within the park that you and Fido can explore, stretching out for about three quarters of a mile. Also in this neighborhood is Bell Lake Park, which is a picturesque passive park. Fishing is available here, as well as picnic tables, a lake, a fountain and a few footbridges.

Autum

Autum

Less than a mile from West Deptford is the Woodbury neighborhood of Autum, which is home to several parks. The largest is Stewart Park, which is home to the 45 acre Stewart Lake. The majority of the park is wooded, with several different plant and animal species living here, while the lake is always popular for fishing. Rotary Park is another pretty and passive park to check out, while the Wing-Dickerson Park offers more facilities, including a playground, tennis courts and basketball courts. Also in this neighborhood is Hendrickson Park, where you will find a couple of memorials, as well as an arboretum and a paved walking path.

Gibbstown

Gibbstown

The Gibbstown neighborhood of Gibbstown is less than a mile from West Deptford, and is a pawsome area to explore with your pooch. This is where Nehaunsey Park is located, a large passive park that is known for its natural beauty. There is a walking trail here that your pup will love, stretching out for just over a mile one way, and this will take you and Fido through everything from forests to swampland. Keep in mind that the trail is not marked, and can be a little difficult to follow at times, so set aside some extra time for this walk, just in case you get lost!

Runnemede

Runnemede

It takes about three minutes to drive to the Runnemede neighborhood of Runnemede, and the journey is worth it because this is where you will find Runnemede Lake Park. The park is home to Runnemede Lake, as well as several sports facilities. The rest of the park consists mainly of woodland, which is always so much fun to explore with a pooch by your side. If all of that was not enough, this park also contains the Runnemede Dog Park, which is fully fenced off so that your pup can safely run off the lead. This is quite a small dog park and is often quiet, which is great if your pooch would prefer to play with you rather than other dogs.
