Memorial Avenue
This neighborhood is home to Gibbstown’s one off-leash dog park. This dog park is located within Memorial Park, and it includes one grassy, fenced-in field where your dog can run around as much as they like. Bring your dog some water and their favorite toys, and have fun playing with them here. If you’d like to also go on a longer on-leash walk with your dog, head over to nearby Nehausey Park. This park has a trail that’s about two miles long that goes through forests and swamplands. This neighborhood is the perfect place to spend the day outside with your pup!

Bridgeport
Bridgeport is home to a woof-derful off-leash dog area. This popular 2.5-acre dog park is located within Gloucester County Dream Park, which is just five miles down the road from Gibbstown. This large dog park offers separate areas for big and small dogs, and there are also two gazebos for owners to sit in while their dogs are playing. There are also two doggy water fountains and four dog waste stations available here. Your dog will have a great time running around and playing in this spacious, grass-filled dog park.

Claymont Village
For another fun dog park, head over to Claymont Village and check out Claymont Community Center Dog Park. This dog park is only 13 miles from Gibbstown, and it has separate large and small dog areas. There are doggy bags available, but there is no water, so be sure to bring your pup’s water bowl. If you want to cool down after playing at the dog park, head over to nearby Rita’s Italian Ice. This casual eatery has a walk-up window and plenty of dog-friendly outdoor tables. Order yourself a delicious Italian ice, a creamy cup of custard, or a sweet milkshake. Sycamore Mills Road
If you want to get out into the woods with your dog, head over to Ridley Creek State Park. Located about 19 miles from Gibbstown, this 2,606-acre state park has tons of trails that allow dogs on-leash. To see some of the park’s most stunning features, check out the Ridley Creek Park Loop trail. This 4.4-mile trail takes you past the park’s beautiful creek and through black walnut tree groves. If hiking this trail makes you hungry, grab lunch with your dog at nearby Fresco Pizza Grill. This restaurant welcomes dogs on their outdoor patio, and they serve delicious stone-fired pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps, and more.

Talleys Corner
Talleys Corner has a great off-leash area called Talley Day Bark Park. This dog park is about 18 miles from Gibbstown, and it has separate areas for large and small dogs. There are also peaceful wooded hiking trails where your dog can walk off-leash. If your dog gets thirsty, water is available in the dog park. After the dog park, continue your day out with your pup with lunch at Vincenza and Margarita Bistro. This chic Italian bistro has four dog-friendly outdoor tables. Or, if you’re just in the mood for something sweet, head over to Ice Cream Delight. This ice cream shop has pet-friendly outdoor benches, and they offer doggy sundaes for your pup!
