Dog Areas in Swedesboro

Swedesboro is a borough in Gloucester County, New Jersey that got its name from the early Swedish settlers. The English colonies were in need of a road between Burlingtown and Salem, so they built the Kings Highway. After that, the area started to become more attractive to settlers, mostly because of the fertile soil. Before it was named in honor of its original inhabitants, this area was called Raccoon.

If you're just visiting Swedesboro, you and Fido can stay at the Holiday Inn Philadelphia South Swedesboro. The best part is, this hotel doesn't charge an extra fee for your canine companion! Please note that dogs may be left unattended in their rooms for a short period of time as long as they are in a crate.

There are three animal hospitals and veterinary centers in Swedesboro that will take great care of your pup. One of the hospitals provides 24-hour care, so if there are any emergencies, your pet will be in safe hands.

Swedesboro also has several dog-friendly restaurants where you can enjoy a doggie dinner date! Check out Rode's Fireside Restaurant & Tavern for some classic pub fare. Vesuvio Ristorante boasts that they serve "the best food in Swedesboro" -- we'll let you and Sparky be the judge of that! Tavro Thirteen is also dog-friendly. Be sure to bring a leash and water bowl to all establishments. Bone Appetit!
