Short Hills
Short Hills is a central neighborhood in Millburn and a great place to take the pup for some on-leash walks and even shopping. Gero Park is a good, well-shaded spot near the basketball court where you can spend the day people-watching and enjoying a quiet moment outside with your pooch. The Mall at Short Hills is one of the most popular places in the township, and you definitely have to visit it at least once! Rent a dog stroller to make the adventure as comfortable as pawssible for your pooch. Dogs aren't allowed in the food court, but some stores will welcome leashed, well-behaved pooches to help you shop!

Echo Lake Park - Mountainside
Split into two halves by Park Drive, Echo Lake Park in Mountainside, New Jersey, is a marvelous and leafy retreat with an enormous amount of room for outdoor activities. The park has some walking trails leading to the woods, as well as small recreational spots for a lonely retreat near the water and a dog park! Pooches are welcome to roam free in Echo Lake Dog Park, occupying about 3 acres divided into two sections for small and large hounds. Make yourself comfortable at the benches and grab a snack at the local bar while your puppy is socializing with new friends! Leashed dogs are welcome to explore the main park with you.

Parsippany
The township of Parsippany-Troy Hills, often shorted to just Parsippany, is located between Troy Meadows Wetlands and Forge Pond. Your pup will love visiting Cameron Dog Park, located at the very southern end of Cameron Tract Park. The dog area is fairly small, but rarely crowded! Unknown to many dog owners, this hidden gem is a beautiful, fenced spot with lots of grass for playing fetch or running around. Visit early in the morning if you want some one-on-one playtime. And don't forget to pay a visit to CUPS Frozen Yogurt Parsippany, with outdoor tables and a variety of refreshing frozen treats!

Brookdale
Brookdale is one of the northern neighborhoods in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The best and simplest way to get to here from Millburn will be to travel northeast via Garden State Parkway. The trip will take no more than half an hour, and once you are there, it's time to stretch your legs and have a blast! Brookdale Dog Park is a pet-friendly extension of the public green area which features an array of athletic fields, a playground, and occasional music festivals in summer. The fenced, off-leash area has plenty of room to run, and is split into two sections for shy and active mutts. Seating for humans and drinking water facilities for pups are also included!
Mills Reservation County Park
Mills Reservation County Park is 156 acres of freedom and natural area with a range of walking trails winding through the preserved land. Here, you'll find scenic overlooks, gorgeous wilderness, and close proximity to Cedar Grove Reservoir. You will not find a special area for pups to roam off-leash -- however, there are more than enough pet-friendly hiking trails that your mutt will love exploring! There is the main loop trail, which can be briskly hiked in about an hour. When you finish your adventure, get ready to be rewarded with a stunning view of the New York City in the distance! The top of this trail is the pawfect place to snap a photo of your precious pup!
