Just nine miles east of Queens, New York, Elmont is a small community where dog owners can enjoy spending time with their furry family members. Cunningham Park is just one of the natural areas available to walk your pup and have fun in the fresh air. The park is well-maintained and quiet, allowing you and Fido to relax and walk laps, or pack a picnic lunch and eat at one of the BBQ areas. Kids will also enjoy climbing on the playground equipment while furry family members chase a ball or frisbee.

Another family and Fido-friendly destination is the Hempstead Lake State Park. In addition to tennis and basketball courts, there are biking and hiking trails that are perfect for getting some afternoon exercise. While visiting the park with your pooch, stop by the historic hand-carved wooden carousel and enjoy a picnic at one of the pavilions.

Fido will also enjoy a shopping trip to the Puppy Love pet boutique. The store carries premium food and treats in addition to designer beds and toys. All pampered pups also need quality medical care, and there are three veterinarian clinics offering emergency and routine appointments right in town.

Spending time with your pooch in Elmont is relaxing and tranquil. You can get away from the big city and stroll with your pup while chatting with friends away from the traffic and noise.
