Von Marie met Beans, for the first time and it honestly couldn t have gone more perfectly. From the moment she walked in, Von Marie was so warm, calm, and SUPER excited to meet him. Beans can be a little shy at first, but she was patient, gentle, and gave him the time he needed to feel comfortable. Within minutes, he was completely at ease with her. It was so sweet to see. Okay, we all know Brooklyn is an amazing place. There is so much to do here with your pet that it can be hard to choose where to go first. Luckily, it's just 12 miles away from Valley Stream, so you can visit any time you like! If you are out having a blast in Brooklyn and get hungry, come on over to Habana Outpost. The fare is authentic Mexican and Cuban foods, complete with just enough spice. Make sure your dog can handle loud music, because live bands play regularly here. Food is always important, but this place is a community hot-spot for artists as well.

Gerritsen Beach

If you and Fido are looking for a place to beat the heat, then you will be thrilled to know that Gerritsen Beach is also dog-friendly! You can bring your dog with you to dig, splash, and play in the sand and surf. This is a beach, so you'll need to bring your own drinking water. You don't have to keep your dog on his leash, but be aware that there are no fences. Trash cans are provided; please bring your own doggie bags for cleaning up after your dog. Come and enjoy some fun in the sun just 12 miles from Valley Stream.

Gramercy Park

Valley Stream is only 25 miles away from the Big Apple, which has so many places to enjoy with Fido that you won't know where to go first! If it's off-leash fun you're after, head to Stuyvesant Square Dog Park. This is the go-to place for your dog to come and socialize with other dogs. This is a very quiet and well-maintained dog park located in the scenic Stuyvesant Square Park. Right across from the dog park is a trail that allows you to walk your dog off-leash! You will need to bring your own water and doggie bags, as they are not provided. The whole area is heavily shaded with plenty of places for sit and enjoy the day.

Middletown Pelham Bay

The Bronx is another pawtastic place to explore, and it's only about eighteen miles from Valley Stream. Here, you will find Pelham Bay Park Dog Run. Your pup will have lots of wide open space to run and play with other dogs here. If you have a water-loving dog, you will even find that there is plenty of opportunity for your pet to splash around. There are water stations, but during the winter, there is no running water. You will want to have your own doggie bags because these aren't stocked regularly and are often unavailable.
