Lawrence

Lawrence is an affluent village with private residences, a country club, and a public school. There are sidewalks along some of the neighborhood streets where you can take your pup for a walk here. If you're looking for a change of pace, head three to four miles southwest of town to Rockaway Beach. Stroll down the boardwalk or wander on the sand with your four-footed friend. Dogs are permitted to join you in this facility during the off-season. Make sure you keep your fur baby on a leash and under control when you visit. Bring waste bags to clean up any waste.

Cedarhurst

Cedarhurst is a small village located just north of Lawrence. There are single-family homes, apartment buildings, and some small businesses in this area. You'll be able to take a daily walk around the block here. To treat your canine companion to some off-leash exercise, take him to Bay Park in East Rockaway. This area features a dog run where you can let your pooch romp with other four-footed friends. There are separate sections for large and small dogs at the facility. You'll find the dog run near the ball fields at the east side of the park. Make sure you clean up after your special pal.

Business District

The Business District of Woodmere includes local businesses, some apartment buildings, and a few streets with single-family homes. There are streets with sidewalks just a few blocks from downtown where you and Fido can take a stroll together. On the corner of Woodmere Boulevard and Railroad Avenue, you'll find an indoor dog park. Rain or shine, you can let your pal socialize with other canine companions at Fido Fitness Club. This 8,000 square foot playground has floors made of compressed foam rubber for your pal's comfort. Dogs must pass an assessment and be current on vaccinations to use this facility. Day passes and annual memberships are available.

Inwood

The town of Inwood, on the head of Jamaica Bay, is a mixed commercial and residential community. There are sidewalks here where you and Spot can take a daily jaunt. To enjoy some fresh air with your furry friend, head to Bayswater Point State Park. This 12-acre facility has hiking trails along a peninsula in the Mott Basin. Walk by the water with your special pal here. Dogs can accompany you here, provided that they're on a leash and under your control. Make sure to bring water and some waste bags with you so that you can clean up after your pup.

Atlantic Beach

Atlantic Beach is a populous island neighborhood just south of Lawrence. This area has streets where you and your pooch can take a daily stroll. When you want to give your four-footed pal a chance to get some exercise with other pups, head east about 3.8 miles to Long Beach Recreation Center. There's a dog run that's located in the old Skate Park off Pine Street. This facility has separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, water stations, and benches. Let your fur baby romp and play with others here. Make sure you bring waste bags with you to clean up any messes.
