North Rockaway Park is a pupperific neighborhood with plenty to do and see with your dog. North Rockaway is conveniently located tight next to the Broad Channel and Far Rockaway for easy commuting. Rockaway Community Park is a popular destination for dog walkers looking for room for a game of fetch. Freeway Dog Run is a dog park in the area with fenced-in areas for off-leash fun. You will still need to keep a leash with you just in case your dog needs a little space. You will also need to keep some waste bags in your pocket to clean up after your dog before you leave the parks.

West Rockaway Park is a wonderful neighborhood for dog lovers who also enjoy being right on the water. Marine Park is a wonderful green space surrounded by the waters of Jamaica Bay. You will need some towels with you to help your dog get dry after an afternoon of splashing and sniffing until he is all tuckered out. This is a popular area for commuters with easy access to the Belt Parkway going toward many other towns and cities. The easy commute means you will get a few more precious moments with your dog in the morning before work and a quicker trip back to him at the end of the day.

Central Rockaway Park is home to the famed Flight 587 Park Memorial. Dogs are welcomed there as long as they are on-leash and you clean up after your beloved pup. The Wharf is a nearby restaurant on the water that has outdoor tables where you and your pup can enjoy some of the best seafood around. You will find the sidewalks here are some of the most beautiful places with the best views of the water around. Breezy Point Tip is right on the shoreline and offers both grassy fields and a pupperific beach that will have your dog’s tail wagging all afternoon. Make sure you are ready to make some new friends during the warm months, as the parks and beaches can get busy.
