Rockville Centre, New York is a place that is historic and quiet. The village was named after a Methodist preacher who lived there named Mordecai "Rock" Smith. Today, this quaint community is home to green spaces, trails, and nature centers, which are the pawfect places to share some outdoor adventures with your pup. The five vets within Rockville will keep your pup in tip-top health, and three dog-friendly restaurants and plenty of parks will keep Fido full and happy!

First stop: Morgan Days Park. This is the closest you can get to nature without leaving the city. There are lots of trees that provide shade and ambiance. It is known for being romantic, secluded, and the perfect place to escape when you just need a break from the hustle of city life. Dogs need to be on a leash in this community park.

Tanglewood Park is eleven acres of fun, with a fishing pond right in the middle of the park. There are guided tours and a nature center so you and your pooch can learn about the ecosystems within the park. The center offers weekend nature classes which welcome dogs and children to learn something new.

Rockville Centre might not be as bustling as the Big Apple, but it's a furrific destination for both pups and humans looking to relax and recharge.

    #2 Downtown

There is nothing like an Italian pizza pie, especially one that's cooked in a coal oven. The cheesy goodness is what will bring you over to Blue Moon. The paninis are a close second reason why you will make this your new favorite lunch spot. Bring your dog with you to enjoy your meal; furry friends are always welcome at any of the outdoor tables. Just make sure that your dog is well-behaved and doesn't mind being on a leash. You can order him some water and even his own dishes if he's eyeing your plate a little too closely.

    #4 Gerritsen Beach

If you don't mind the twenty-mile trip to Brooklyn, you can take your dog to The Dog Beach on Gerritsen. This beach is located on a hidden bay. It is open to everyone, but allows dogs to come and play on the beach with their owners. Leashes are optional, but there are no fences, so make sure your buddy has good recall skills.
