Park Avenue

Dodici is an upscale Italian restaurant that prides itself on authentic Italian food that is reasonably priced. You are more than welcome to bring your dog to any of the outdoor tables. This Fido-friendly eatery has a great wine list as well an intense dessert menu. Please make sure that your dog is well-behaved and on a leash for your visit. The wait staff will serve your dog water and food if you order it for them. Come on over and get a scrumptious homemade lasagna, or savor some tiramisu while your precious pup lounges at your feet.

Downtown

There is nothing like an Italian pizza pie, especially one that's cooked in a coal oven. The cheesy goodness is what will bring you over to Blue Moon. The paninis are a close second reason why you will make this your new favorite lunch spot. Bring your dog with you to enjoy your meal; furry friends are always welcome at any of the outdoor tables. Just make sure that your dog is well-behaved and doesn't mind being on a leash. You can order him some water and even his own dishes if he's eyeing your plate a little too closely.

Central

Ralph's Famous Italian Ice is sure to be your favorite summer destination spot. This establishment will let you bring your dog with you while you sample over 150 flavors of Italian ice. You can also get ice cream, soft serve, or a slushie or shake. They even have original mixes, like The Twister, which is a mix of Italian Ice and soft serve. Bring a leash with you, and don't forget to order your favorite for your pet. (Steer clear of chocolate and cherry flavors!) Your and your pup will love slurping up the syrupy goodness at the outdoor tables.

Gerritsen Beach

If you don't mind the twenty-mile trip to Brooklyn, you can take your dog to The Dog Beach on Gerritsen. This beach is located on a hidden bay. It is open to everyone, but allows dogs to come and play on the beach with their owners. Leashes are optional, but there are no fences, so make sure your buddy has good recall skills. Bring plenty of water with you. There are trash cans here, but you will need to bring doggie waste bags. Be aware that there are often lots of dogs here, and it isn't a good idea to leave picnic baskets unattended!

Eisenhower Park

Eisenhower Park in Westbury is only about eight miles from Rockville Centre. This is where you will find something to do for everyone -- from playgrounds to trails, you will stay busy at this furrific park!  The best part of Eisenhower Park, though, is its dog park! The fenced dog park has about an acre of spaces for pups to run and romp to their hearts' content. The park has everything that you need, from water fountains to doggie cleaning stations. There are even pooper scoopers. If it's raining, you can still play thanks to the shelters in the park. Eisenhower Park is the pawfect place to spend a day with the whole family -- furry members included!
