Bay Village sits right on the shore of Lake Erie, with a scenic view of the large lake to the north. Although its pretty obvious how the city got its name, the city has had some strange names like "Xeuma" which means "those who came before us" and "The Firelands" after a large fire devastated the area during the revolutionary war. Today though, many people will know the city for its love for dogs. Bay Village provides 3 animal hospitals and a common love for pups throughout the entire city.

The largest and most gorgeous place to head in Bay village is the Huntington Reservation, a 105-acre area that preserves the natural wetlands and marshes along the shore. There are multiple trails that extend over 2 miles, from all-purpose trails made from concrete to natural paths. There are open areas, a beach, water fountains, clean-up stations, a playground, and a recreation area with baseball and soccer fields. Leash up Fido on a leash 10 feet or shorter before heading out and you'll have a great time here.

Bradley Park is a much smaller park, but still offers a cozy and quiet place to bring Fido out for a walk. There are trees that surround the park for shade and privacy, with fenced-in tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, a playground, open fields, and a looping trail. Additional features include water fountains, benches, and trash bins.

With pawsome places to explore, your pup will love Bay Village!
