Rocky River District
Located on Beach Cliff Road, the Rocky River Park is a great place to walk your pooch and spend time with the family. You and Fido can stroll around the lake and admire the view or relax on a bench and enjoy the sunset. The playground for the kids is perfect to let them run off some energy and you can stroll with your pup around the area while the kids play. Planning a family BBQ is a great way to enjoy time with your furry family members and there are several picnic tables and grills conveniently located near the restrooms. After a day at the park, you also might want to stop by Cravings Café – a Thai restaurant where you can order a tasty meal or a cup of coffee while Fido hangs out at the patio tables.36

Beach Cliff II
Learning about local history while getting some exercise with your pup makes the Elmwood Park is a perfect destination. The park is located on Elmwood Road and features a pooch-friendly picnic shelter where you can meet up with friends and their dogs. You can let the pups play in the grassy lawn while pooch parents relax with a drink in their lawn chairs. You can also walk over to the re-created Elmwood Cabin on site and read about the local history. Kids can play at the playground. Your pooch will love visiting the puptacular Lakewood Dog Park on Valley Parkway in Lakewood. The park is fenced and features a double-gated entry for your pup’s safety. Fido can run around under the shade trees and sniff the plants, and his furry friends’ butts. There are benches where pooch parents can relax and chat with friends while their dogs are having a furtastic time. The park is usually well stocked with doggie waste bags, so be sure to clean up after your pooch. The seasonal water fountain is also handy when Fido needs a drink before heading home. If you are looking for a pup-friendly place to eat near the park, stop by Donatos Pizza which offers a variety of subs, salads, wings, and pizza and pup-friendly outdoor seating.

A mile and a half south of Rocky River, Bohlken Park offers 25-acres of space in Fairview Park. With wide-open ball fields and lighted ball courts, this is a perfect destination to take your pup for a walk in the early morning or in the evening before bed. The walking trail goes around the entire perimeter of the park giving you and Fido plenty of exercise. There is playground equipment for the kids and the picnic shelter is great when you and your pup need a snack. After spending some time at the park, you may also want to stop by Brown Sugar Thai Cuisine. There are pooch-friendly outdoor tables where you can enjoy your meal and chat with friends.

Mastick Road
North Olmstead is about five miles south of town and features the Rocky River Reservation where you can spend some quality time with your pup. There is plenty of open spaces and hiking trails where Fido can stretch his legs and you will love the scenery and mature trees. Your pup will have a snifftastic time exploring the plants and wooded area, but be sure to keep him on a leash. The park also offers convenient restrooms and a water fountain where you and your pup can get a cool drink. With a large variety of different trails for all skill levels, you and Fido can find a place to enjoy some peace and quiet.
